SuMo Launches with Eren Groupe to Scale Waste-to-Molecules Projects
Joint venture aims to scale modular gasification technology to convert residual waste into low-carbon fuels and chemicals.

Sustainable Molecules Ltd (SuMo) has officially launched, announcing a strategic joint venture with international project developer and asset investor Eren Groupe.

The partnership aims to accelerate the deployment of modular, advanced gasification infrastructure capable of converting low-quality, non-recyclable waste into carbon-capture-ready syngas. That syngas can then be upgraded into energy vectors and chemical products including methanol, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), hydrogen and synthetic methane.

The joint venture outlines ambitions to scale waste-to-molecules projects across the UK, Europe and globally, supported by a planned investment programme of up to €500 million.

SuMo’s technology has been under development for over a decade, including operation of a 10 MWth plant, and is positioned as a modular, pressurised platform designed for repeatable commercial deployment.
