SUEZ is putting pressure on the Government to meet waste targets
In an open letter to the current UK government, they outlined their vision for a zero-waste economy and called for the government to take action to achieve it. Their key asks include: providing clarity and simplicity in policy, effective funding and support, and driving behaviour change.
CIWM appoints its first Early Careers President
The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) has announced Charlotte Davies as its first Early Careers President. CIWM has expressed the wish to support the growth of the resources and skills needed for the future of waste management. Charlotte Davies has said she wants to “inspire and support professional development” within the sector and hopes to use modern methods to attract new young professionals into the sector. Including TikTok!
SUEZ has been busy this week - as they were awarded a £120 million waste and recycling collection contract
SUEZ recycling and recovery UK has been awarded a new contract by South Gloucestershire Council worth over £120 million to help improve the area's recycling rates. The new contract will replace the council’s current 25-year Private Finance Initiative (PFI) which is soon to expire.
