Andusia have signed a RDF contract with Germany’s leading EfW group, EEW.

The contract will see Andusia supply 1 million tonnes of RDF over a 5-year period. The new deal comes due to the rising demand for green electricity across Europe; largely associated with the global issue of energy security.

Building upon their existing contract with EEW Delfzijl, the 200,000 tonnes a year contract will supply RDF to six of EEW’s other facilities across Germany (Helmstedt, Knapsack, Stapelfeld, Premnitz, Schwedt and Neunkirchen) from January 2023.

EEW is Germany’s leading company in generating environmentally friendly energy from waste, with 17 state-of-the-art plants. The group processes approximately 5 million tonnes of waste each year with the objective to reduce, if not eliminate, landfill across Europe.

Oliver Karg, Head of International Sales at EEW comments on the deal, “EEW are pleased to have signed this long-term, high-volume contract with Andusia. We are confident that we can build on our successful 6-year relationship and work together to continue not only diverting waste from UK landfill but generating electricity and heat for households and businesses across Germany.”
