This is an excellent piece, well done Adam. We have to keep fighting the uphill battle to promote the EfW benefits and this is well reasoned rebuttal of the unfortunate angle these report have taken. Unfortunately with many subjects in the media, the emotive headline is goal, not the balance. As with other lower-carbon energy options (e.g. SMR's) there is always a habit of the negatives being the reason not to open the debate and the media focusses on the greener angle without seeing the green benefits of the non-wind/solar generation options. People in the energy industry know that wind/solar is not the sole generation source, and it will never be due to the reliability and continuity of supply. So we must continue to promote EfW, Nuclear and even CCGT with Hydrogen fuel mix and all the associated technology driven improvements to emission & waste control.
