Encyclis carbon capture project has received the go ahead from Cheshire West and Chester Council planning committee
Back in April, Encyclis announced progression in plans for their first full-scale UK carbon capture plant. Now, Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning committee has approved the Protos ERF CC project, moving it another step closer to becoming a pioneering carbon capture plant.
The UK Government has awarded £24.5 million to the Leeds EfW heat network
The UK government has announced it will allocate an additional £24.5 million from the Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) to the LeedsPIPES energy from waste project. Hemiko’s multi-source heat pump network in Barnsley will also receive additional funding of £12.6 million from the fund.
On the subject of carbon capture - Cory has announced new partnerships working on its Riverside CCS project
Cory has announced two partnerships with Shell Catalysts and Technologies and Technip Energies. Together, they will provide the Riverside project in south east London with the capture technology
And in Cardiff, the city has announced plans to introduce a new reusable cup scheme
The public will be able to “borrow” reusable cups that they can return at a later date. The scheme is an attempt to reduce the amount of single-use cups thrown away in the area.
