For James - IF gov introduce the 23 policies mentioned by Stuart in a timely and coordinated fashion (big if) … haven’t we got enough policy push to move waste up the hierarchy. Aren’t we missing two other key needs … the reliable offtake demand for recyclables … and a Mechanism for managing commodity price volatility of recyclables to underpin long term recycling and reprocessing in the uk?

I agree Alban - what is needed is a model to underpin pricing for recyclables including harder to recycle plastics to stop the boom bust issues faced by the sector and mechanisms to ensure EPR costs are fully passed to Local Authorities and the commercial waste sector.
