Marcus Brew

Managing Director, UNTHA UK

With a 25-year career working with technically complex capital equipment, I have been involved in multi-million pound blue-chip engineering projects around the world. As a result, my in-depth knowledge of the production environment spans everything from waste management to the automotive industry and the fascinating world of aerospace. A recognised expert in shredding technologies for the alternative fuel production industry, I have played an active role in some of the country’s most exciting Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and biomass projects. My contacts and knowledge of the wider supply chain mean I am ideally placed to not just advise on the shredding machinery itself, but also the financing, design and cost reductions of the complete WtE solution. I have a commitment to delivering high-quality projects that achieve maximum profitability. With a strong sales focus, I am also responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, the implementation of ever-more efficient processes and procedures, and the ongoing development of my incredibly talented team.

Simon Webb

Managing Director, Tidy Planet

Simon is the Managing Director of Tidy Planet – a Macclesfield based organic waste and Energy-from-Waste (EfW) solutions specialist. He has over 30 years’ experience within the pollution control and waste management industries – and has worked across five countries, providing site-based solutions for clients within the oil and gas, aviation, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors, to name a few. There are two strands to Tidy Planet – composting and EfW – and our core philosophy is to help organisations harness the resource potential of their organic wastes, allowing them to treat hard-to-dispose-of waste streams on site. This allows businesses to save money on costly disposal fees and close the waste management loop, as well as boost their green credentials. We’re also the UK’s sole distributor for Spanish energy generation specialist Sugimat’s industry-leading WtE boilers – demonstrating our dedication to bringing the most efficient, cutting-edge technologies to UK businesses. With this partnership, we’re able to offer fully customised, unconventional-waste-to-energy and cogeneration solutions for some of the most troublesome waste streams in the market, including RDF, SRF, contaminated food wastes, Grade C/D wood and wood fines, sewage screenings, poultry wastes, animal manures, fish mortalities and compost oversize, amongst others. Since our humble beginnings, we have worked with a catalogue of organisations across a spectrum of industries, to devise and implement efficient and cost-saving waste management strategies. These include BP, Exxon, British Airways, Gatwick Airport and DHL.
